Blooming celebrations!

The annual show attracted huge crowds. The ubiquitous sight of different varieties of flowers charmed the visitors of every age group. Ankur Singh, a corporate head from Varanasi said, "I make it a point to visit the flower show every year.It’s great to come across mutants and cross bred varieties at one place in such attractive colours and sizes."
Organised in the lawns of the institute, the vast array of chrysanthemum and splendid varieties of coleus scattered colour and fragrance in the air. Lt General Gautam Dutt, VSM, Chief of staff, HQ Central Command, Lucknow, was the chief guest while Prof Basant Ram, VC of a well known university, came as the guest of honour.
Amongst the prize winners were different varieties of chrysanthemums titled Queen of the show (of Korean origin), an entry made by President AWWA, Kiran Nandrajog and King of the show (snow ball) an entry of Mehmood Ahmad. Doridge queen and entry of Uma Shankar Sahu, was declared the flower of the year. Concluding the much colourful day Dr B Bannerji gave the vote of thanks.
