Indore chaat stall, is drawing the maximum crowds. Those crisp, golden fried tikkis, served along with a smattering of pudina chutney and chola, are the sure shot winners. Khasta papdi comes close second.
Those who have the stamina to digest the heavy, calorie laden delicacies are making a beeline for the Rajasthani daal baati churma. Maalpua stuffed with khowa is yet another favourite of those who are not watching their weight. Malai kulfi on the other hand, is currying favour with young and young at heart. We caught many a youngsters enjoying kesar wala doodh, simmering on the fire for hours.
A girlie gang of Prajakta, Supriya, Naina and Swati was enjoying those huge masala papads, garnished with chaat masala, onions and tomatoes. "We make it a point to come here every day," said Prajakta, even as she was enjoying her favourite snack.
While many enjoyed the culinary delights, there were others like Devika Kelkar who were busy shopping for colourful Khurja pottery. "I have simply fallen in love with this colourful coffee mug," claimed Devika, as she displayed it proudly, while quite a few shoppers picked up smaller gift articles like salt and pepper cases and paper napkin holders.
Brightly coloured soup bowls and ceramic vases were also selling like hot cakes at the mela. "I really like the unusual shapes and sizes of these bright vases showcased here," drooled Sahakar Ali, the young lady who was shopping away to glory at the pottery section.
