Amarendra Dhaneshwar
's performance brought colour to Nashik on Sunday evening as he performed at
Shree mohotsav
which was organised at Vishakha Dalan of
Kusumagraj
Pratishtan.
Shree mohotsav is an annual event organized in
memory
of Shrikant Sahastrabuddhe by Shree Sangeet Pratisthan. This year being the fourth mohotsav saw Amarendra Dhaneshwar performing various songs of
Sudhir Phadke and present Phadke’s life through songs.
Phadke’s skill of composing many songs using a single raag was highlighted in the program which started with Raag Aasavari following information about Sudhir Phadke. In the program he highlighted how Phadke composed many songs using a single raag. Amarendra followed it up with the song ‘Piyu Piy Karat’ and shared an important aspect of raag Vibhas. He mentioned how most music lovers have heard a Raag Vibhas but it was Phadke who created Aabhas raag while composing his songs.
Amarendra told the story about how Sudhir Phadke was renamed Ramchandra Vinayak Phadke. Various songs presented after the mention mesmerised audience. Amarendra was accompanied by Nisarga Dehukar on
Tabla
and Sandip Mishr on Sarangi.
