Following in his father’s footsteps, leprosy rights activist Dr Vikas Amte has taken forward Baba Amte’s legacy through his work. But other than his commitment for the tribals of Maharashtra, who are battling various ailments, he is also a man, who loves to share various interesting anecdotes about his life. Nagpurians witnessed this as he attended an event organised at Chitnavis Centre recently.
The audience enjoyed it thoroughly as he narrated his love story. With a smile on his face, he shared, “My wife Bharati fell in love with my work; I had a secondary role to play in that process. But then together we made a fine marriage.”
On this occasion, city artists also made his sketch in front of the audience.
