plants

is not easy. Plants aren’t fluffy, they don’t have superpowers; they don’t make funny noises and they can’t spin a web or fly like superman. Children do not get the opportunity to nurture plants. Delhi Public School

Lava, students pledged to ‘

Khetify

’- an activity that was kicked off recently. Each class has been given their own garden space. The students planted seeds of the vegetables like tomatoes, brinjals, fenugreek, lady finger, spinach, cabbage, carrots and cauliflowers. Expert gardeners are guiding the students in this endeavour.

Khetify aims to instill in the students a sense of responsibility and caring toward the plants. The youngsters will also learn how plants compete with weeds for nourishment. It aims to foster cooperation, love of nature and creativity. They will learn to enjoy a physical activity that is productive. The idea is also to teach them the value of every morsel of food.
