On Friday evening, college students and music aficionados alike all headed to an auditorium in South Mumbai to watch ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas perform.The concert which was held to raise funds for children suffering from thalassemia, saw a full-house crowd singing along with Pankaj’s old and new tracks. Present to support the musician was his wife Farida and their two beautiful daughters Nayab and Reva.
Nayab said this college initiative was started off seven years ago when she was studying in the same college and remains a project very close to her heart. The audience cheered as the maestro belted out hits such as Ghungroo Toot Gaye, Chitthi Aayi Hai among others. He was accompanied on stage by Rajendra Singh on the violin and Naser Qureshi on the mandolin. The show that started in the evening continued past 11 pm as fans enjoyed this annual event.
