What’s Sagarika doing at an art show?
Gallery Art Desh hosted an exhibition of artists Ananya Banerjee and Kazi Anirban, which saw a bunch of luminaries come in to appreciate their work.

DJ Vipin (TOI Photo) While talking about her works, Ananya, a lawyer turned artist said “I’m very much a people’s person and draw inspiration from the people I meet in daily life; hence that explains human elements forming a mainstay of my works.”
Kazi on the other hand, had created a series based on women and explained it saying, “Women are the most versatile subjects that art has ever had.
They have so many moods, essences and styles that it’s always a challenge as well as a treat to portray them on canvas.”
Gautam Patole of Art Desh said that he was happy to have two budding and promising artists showing in his gallery” The show was attended by theatre personality Gary Richardson who came in especially for Ananya who he said, “has been very gracious in helping us with art work for our plays. I see a lot of talent in her and also now, in Kazi. It’s a treat to watch newer artist”
The Chak De! girl Sagarika Ghatge contributed to the glam quotient of the evening as she trooped in looking stunning in a black ‘n’ white combo and toured around the gallery, asking curious questions to the artists.
“Though I can’t paint or draw much I’m very much interested in art and especially love to see works of budding artists because they have so much fire in them. It was a treat to see these works which have so much of energy and realism in them” she said.
