Irrfan, who turns producer with 'Madaari', presented the film’s trailer at a suburban multiplex with his son Ayan Khan. He recalled that it was a two-line father-son story that intrigued him to associate with this Nishikant Kamat-helmed movie. He plays a vigilante who fights all odds to achieve his goal in the film, which releases on June 10. The trailer, which aptly depicts a man’s journey against the entire system, was received well by the audience.
Irrfan’s wife, Sutapa Sikdar, who conceived the subject and is also producing the film, revealed, “Irrfan usually rejects a couple of scripts every day. So I wouldn’t offer one to him until I’m convinced.” At this the actor jested, “Hence, the script didn’t come directly from her.”
'Madaari', presented by Miraj Entertainment and Bharat Shah in association with EaseMyTrip.com and produced by Paramhans Creations, also sees Irrfan collaborate with Jimmy Sheirgill, with whom he has worked before. Also present were producers Shailesh Singh, Sonal Deshpande (CEO, Miraj Entertainment), Nishant Pitti (CEO and co-founder of EaseMyTrip.com) and co-producer Sanjeev Kumar (Saptrishi Cinevision).
