There’s respite in store, literally, for designer brands as Mehrauli once again becomes a thriving designer destination. The store Ayamik reopened its doors to Delhi’s fashionistas this week, with the who’s who of the social frat turning up at the do.Dost and host: Pradeep Hirani, the host, took every guest to the historic wishing well present in the premises.
According to legend, the wishing well was frequented by Qutub-ud-din-Aibak, whenever he would have a problem weighing him down and he was never disappointed. In recent times, Pradeep told us, Gauri Khan has come to the well four times; Urmila Matondkar too has visited it a couple of times.
Fashion wise: Designers from various parts of the country came to the do, as their collections have become part of the store, including Pallavi from Jaipur, Sonu Gohil from Mumbai and Rahul and Radhika from Delhi. Designer duo Kapil and Monika Arora were seen hobnobbing with other designers, while Preeti S Kapoor came early and left early. Designers Hemant and Nandita were spotted with their model Ritu Singh, while Manish Gupta was seen in the outer part of the store with fellow designer Raakesh Agarvwal. Later, when
Tulip Joshi came in, dressed in a Sonu Gohil outfit, all the cams turned their attention towards her.
