Soha Ali at Ritu Kumar's fashionable do

Designer Ritu Kumar showed her couture collection in the capital recently. It’s been a while since she’s shown, perhaps that’s why designers and other well-known faces of the city, made sure they were seen.
There was a pre-show cocktail party and this saw loads of people catching up. Shashi Kumar, Ritu’s husband and her two sons – Amrish and Ashvin – made sure they did the right talking as they welcomed the guests.The fingerfood being circulated was delicious, but before one could taste them all, the show was set to begin, and so all trooped into the show area (the cocktail was outside, on the lawns of the venue).
The show was perfect as usual, for Ritu stuck to doing what she does best – reviving royal vintage textile crafts and creating her signature designs from them. “Why should we look anywhere else for inspiration? We’ve got enough of it here,” said Ritu. The mother daughter duo of Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan walked the ramp as showstoppers for Ritu. Must say, even at this age, Sharmila managed to steal the show – that coy smile, that dimple... and she was also a lot more confident on the ramp than Soha. Age seems to matter little, wotsay?
