Small screen, big leap!

Film producer Sandeep Shukla, owner of Leo 1 Production India Ltd, ventured into the television industry by becoming the producer of Dance India Dance Season 2 which starts in December.
The official announcement of the same was done at a press conference at ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton the other day. The show is executed by television production company The Right Picture (TRP) with Winay Mahajan and Harbhajan Singh.Also present at the event were Jay Bhanushali and Ashish Gowalkar.
This time around, over 40,000 children from all over India auditioned for the show; it was Sandeep’s wish to give maximum number of kids across the country a chance to showcase their talent. Both Harbhajan and he also expressed their desire to give maximum exposure to people from rural areas. Speaking on the occasion, Harbhajan Singh mentioned how television has helped him connect with his countrymen. “I see TRP as a step to further my business interests,” he said, adding that the media industry is a fast-growing sector. Sandeep Shukla highlighted his interest in the television industry and expressed his faith in TRP executing the show. “Dance India Dance could be a stepping stone to Bollywood. I will look for fresh talent from DID for my upcoming film projects,” he stated.
