Rajasthan Heritage Week announced at the Olive Bar & Kitchen in Mumbai

Handmade in Rajasthan was the theme that showcased the beautiful textiles of the state at the Olive Bar & Kitchen where the Rajasthan Heritage Week was announced.
The collection of international designer Bibi Russell, which was developed in an intervention project with the weavers, dyers and printers of Rajasthan was presented. This is a concentrated effort to bring the beautiful textiles of the state under the spotlight in a project with 18 world-renowned designers, who will be working with National Award winning craftsmen to create a high fashion statement.

Mumbai-based designers working on the project include Hemant Trevedi, Asif Shah, Sanjay Garg, and other Indian Designers like David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore, Ritu Kumar, and Lars Anderssen from New York.
The three day fashion extravaganza highlighting luxury and beauty of heritage textiles is scheduled to be held from December 3 to 5 in Jaipur. At the helm will be the fashion curator Prasad Bidapa, who is the Chief Creative Director of this project. Vasundhara Raje, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, said, “The Rajasthan Heritage Week is a part of the Textile Development Program that reaffirms our commitment to the traditional textile weavers, who have tirelessly worked to continue the legacy of our forefathers. We are determined to give our khadi and handloom the tag of luxury, which it rightly deserves.”
