safety through their works. Titled Safe Kids Walk This Way, the initiative is into its 11th year. The educative rangolis are being made across public areas at five different locations in Mumbai. The idea is to convey the importance of road safety during Diwali.

Shubham More, an artist from MKT College, says, “I have been making rangolis for several years now, but this is the first time I’m indulging in a social cause. I was inspired to do some social awareness on road safety, so I decided to do it through rangoli and use my skill constructively.”
margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal;background:whiteExplaining what inspired him to participate in the initiative organised by the traffic police department of Mumbai and an NGO called Safe Kids Foundation, artist Vilas Rahate says, “We all are well aware about road and traffic rules, but we do not follow them. If these rules are presented through a creative form like rangoli, people who see it will remember it. Rangoli is an effective and creative medium of communication and goes well with Diwali to promote road safety, which is the need of the hour.”
