The trailer of
Aanand L Rai’s 'Nil Battey Sannata' was launched amidst a packed house. He introduced the movie saying, “During my growing up years, my father used to tell me –—always listen to your heart and not your mind.” Clearly, this one is straight from his heart.
The film is being produced by JAR Pictures and presented by Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions.
It was interesting to see the cast turn up dressed as their characters in the film, which releases on April 22.
Pankaj Tripathi as the headmaster evoked laughter when he took to the blackboard that was part of the stage set-up.
Swara Bhaskar in her school uniform along with the young Ria Shukla kept the audience engaged with their quirks and antics.
Speaking about the novel story, director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari said, “This is a simple story that uses the insights I have closely watched in our country.” Swara, who took up the challenge of playing mother to a 15-year-old, said, “I thought it would be a career suicide to play mother of a teenager. But when I read the script, I realised the potential of the role.”
