Nandita's 'Firaaq' party

Bollywood was out in full force for the special screening of Nandita Das’s directorial debut on Thursday night.
Prior to the start of the film, her father Jatin Das and producer Shailendra Singh thanked all those who were present to be part of Nandita’s ‘it’ moment. “There will be Oscars and Golden Globes, but this moment, when I am for the first time showing my baby to the world, will never come again.This moment is truly special,” Nandita smiled, nervous, yet excited. And as the night unfolded, the audience got a first hand view of Sanjay Suri, Tisca Chopra, Shahana Goswami and the rest of the cast, on-screen and off it too.
The special invitees included Subhash and Rehana Ghai, Kalpana and Lalitha Lajmi, Dia Mirza, Pooja Shetty Deora, Anil Dharker, Suhasini Mulay and Manav Gohil and Shweta Kawaatra, amongst others. It was interesting to see Ayesha Shroff walk in with Kaizad Gustad. The film was the centre of all conversation, it being deep and meaningful and thought-provoking. And Nandita went home smiling that her ‘it’ moment was so memorable.
