Founded by Sashadhar Mukherjee, the pandal situated at Vile Parle is the oldest and the biggest Durga Puja in Mumbai. Now in its 71st year, North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samiti sees Bollywood stars Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Tanisha Mukerji and Tanuja Mukerji actively take part in the Puja preparations as it is the family tradition for them.
A popular pandal for the ardent devoees of Maa Durga has the highest eco-friendly Durga idol (17.5 feet tall) in the city crafted by Kolkata artisans.

The Durga puja here is celebrated from Shasti to Bijoya Dashmi. On the first day Mahashashti, Maa is welcomed with much fanfare amidst the beats of Dhaak and sound of Shaank. Every day the pandal reverberates with the prayers during the puja followed by bhog consisting of fruits and sweets which are first offered to Maa. Kajol was seen serving the bhog to devotees.

Just like every year the pandal saw huge number of celebrities in attendance on all the days of the festival. Dressed in their festive best Jaya Bachchan, Varun Dhawan, Katrina Kaif, Kiran Rao, Mouni Roy, Navneet Dhillon, Deepshikha Nagpal and many others visited the pandal to seek the blessings of Maa Durga. Music composer Pritam Chakraborty performed on some of his best tracks and kept the audience entertained.
