Song, dance and much fanfare
You had people from different walks of life visit the three-day

seafood

festival that's an annual affair and a special time for seafood lovers, who make their way to Versova Koliwada to sample Koli food. From pan fried pomfrets, mackerels, prawns to grilled lobsters and crabs, you could pick your choice of seafood to be served on a platter. There was also solkadhi on the side to enjoy with your meal. You could also purchase some koli masalas, dried fish, prawn pickles, etc from the various stalls. Shivani Atrey, a regular here, shared, "I always make it a point to come for the Versova Seafood Festival with friends. The key is to arriving early, so that you can have a round of all the stalls and enjoy the food without having to jostle the crowds. We dropped by at 6 pm, and were done by 7.30 pm. We loved the tiger prawns and the stuffed banana dessert." Romil Das, another foodie, added, "The Versova Seafood Festival, is an annual date that we foodies keep. While the seafood on offer is some of the freshest catch you will find, the prices are a bit steep. If you head there in a group, you can make the most of it as you end up sharing both the meal and the costs, and you also get to sample a lot in terms of variety available. There were also performances by the Koli community, to keep everyone entertained."
