Mumbai socialites get together
Candles glimmered and chandeliers shimmered as they played host to the cities crème de la crème.

Who says swish, stylish and punctual sit down dinners are passé? The grand custodian of the French culinary tradition, Le Cordon Bleu’s Chef Yann Barraud flew in from Paris and hosted the magical Chivas time dinner with Rashmi Uday Singh (who had studied and filmed in their school).
Candles glimmered and chandeliers shimmered as they played host to the cities crème de la crème who broke all records and were seated at the long elegant table punctually by 8.30 pm. The Maharana of Udaipur, Arvind Singh Mewar, who had flown into the city in his private jet, was the most punctual and held court most of the evening. Shobhaa De walked in with her youngest daughter Anandita looking younger than ever.
Poonam Dhillon’s ravishing red saree and Arti Surendranath’s lovely white dress made a lovely contrast. Harsh Goenka and Miss Srilanka, Jackie Fernandes were deep in conversation. Legal eagles Chander Uday Singh and Tony Jethmalani, artist Jaideep Mehrotra and wife Seema, Chief of Citibank Sanjay Nayar, wife Falguni along with investment banker Ashok Wadhwa, London restaurateur Namita Panjabi, Vinod Advani, Ashwini Kakkar added to the heady mix of the evening. Roohi and Chetan Jaikishen made a handsome entry and Sanjay and Pinky Reddy made the effort to drive in after inaugurating the new airport.
The world of television was represented by Peter and Indrani Mukerjea and Reena Wadhwa, Dr Isaac Mathai of the famous Soukya spa flew in from Bangalore only for this dinner. Praise for Chivas Regal and magical conversations marked the elegant evening. Is it any wonder that Param Oberoi, the CEO of Chivas Regal and his wife Kavita looked delighted?
