Pics: Tejas KudtarkarMumbai Comic Con, which took place in the city over the weekend, saw thousands of fans immersing themselves in a spectacular showcase of comics, cosplay, anime and gaming. There were around five thousand cosplay artistes dressed as their favourite characters – be it superheroes or supervillains.

Sneha Agnes Lakra said, “I have been participating in Comic Con for two years. This time I dressed as Tinker Bell as she is my favourite childhood character. I have stitched my outfit from scratch.”

It took Edenity Sukhlain, who cosplayed as Captain Carter, two days to create her costume. She said, “I created this outfit with the help of a friend over two days. This shield is made up of 3D foam.”

It was evident that Pranjal Chavarkar is a huge Spider-Man fan. “I had got this outfit for Halloween, and since it is my favourite character, I decided to wear it to Comic Con as well,” he said.

Supervillains were also a big hit at the Comic Con. Raj Kriplani said, “I love villains; they are so cool. So, I cosplayed Deathstroke. For this look, I remodelled my bike vest as an armour.”

It took Lokeshwar, who cosplayed as Batman, five months to create the look.
He says, “It is my favourite character of all time.”

Keenan Quadros, who cosplayed as Char’s Zaku, said, “It took me two weeks to create this look, which is fully made up of foam.”

Rakshith Acharya who cosplayed as Dracule Mihawk from One Piece, said, “I am a fan of the show. I wanted to dress up as him last year, but I couldn’t attend Comic Con then. So, I ensured I did that this year. Making the sword took a long a time as its made of cardboard.”

Suyash Chavan, who dressed as Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon, was accompanied by his trusted dragon Toothless. “It took a month and a half to create my outfit. Toothless is made of foam.”

Harley Quinn, played on the big screen by Margot Robbie, has a huge following. Jasmine Kaur said, “I love Harley Quinn’s character and her vibe, so I decided to cosplay her.”
