Name a pub/club and there’s a party on. LAP, FBar, Urban Pind, Olive Bar and Kitchen, Capitol (The Ashok), Agni (The Park), Ivy, Ai, Tabula Rasa, Shangrila, Kuki, Elevate, Smoke House Grill, The Aman, Manre... all these places, and more, are decked up to put their best partying foot forward tonight.
Themes
Of course, the single theme and reason to party is to kiss 2009 goodbye.But to make that more interesting, LAP, for instance, has a masquerade ball. Arrey, wait... don’t run to buy those masks. They’ll be made available at the entrance. Urban Pind has a Jindi Dholi theme. As international dancers from Australia and Russia sway to music, you can dress up as your fave star and walk the green carpet. Olive Bar and Kitchen has planned an AV that will take you down memory lane – right into the roaring 20s, pin-up 50s, psychedelic 60s, and funky disco 70s.
Music
Well, house DJs are high on the list. But a few celeb DJs are going to rock the city tonight too... one of the biggest names being DJ MIA (of Black Eyed Peas). House music is quite hot, but then, so are Bollywood numbers. Bally Sagoo, Hard Kaur, Aanamika, Shankar Sahney, DJ Mickey, DJ Mash, DJ Praveen, DJ Barkha, DJ Aaron, DJ Khushi, Juggy D, Manak, DJ Gaurav, Rishi Rich and Veronica have all got their playlists ready to rock you.
Entry point
Couples, stags, gay entry... the pubs have planned for everyone. Ai, for instance, has a gay party on in the Alfresco Lounge. Couple entry, of course, costs more, and also not all places are cool with stag entry, but “We’ll have to look at the profile of the person wanting stag entry. Only then we will be letting him in,” says a pub owner.
Moolah mantra
Couple entry can cost anything from Rs 22,000 per couple, to Rs 2000 per couple. It all depends on how swish the place is.
Dancing celebs
Mugdha Godse will be shaking a leg at Hotel Shangri La, desi rap sensation Hard Kaur and firang beauty Claudia Ciesla will glam up the evening at DLF Emporio, while Aarti Chabria will perform at the Country Club.
