To spread the message of saving the environment, social activist
Chinu Kwatra
organised a picnic to
Sanjay Gandhi National Park
at
Borivali
for 45 kids from the slums of Borivali. A unique way to spend Children’s Day, the objective of organising a picnic at the forest area was to teach kids the importance of biodiversity. So along with fun, food, treks, mini train, safari and boat rides, kids listened to a talk on the importance of forests and
biodiversity
and green cover.
In today's world where trees are being chopped off and animals killed for development, Chinu tool it upon himself to make kids understand about the importance of forest. He says, “I have been working for underprivileged kids for the last four and half years and I feel they just need some support to dwell. Children are pure humans and the real change makers. If they are directed towards the right path they can do wonders! Taking them to National Park was to show them what forest is all about and why it’s so important! I was happiest to see my kids hugging a tree and showing their love.”
