Planners plan themselves a party: The EEMA (Event and Entertainment Management Association) convention in Delhi recently had many event managers and planners from across the country in Delhi for a few days. But it wasn’t all speeches and addresses – on each night, celebs and singers came down to entertain the gathering. The first night featured singer Aakriti Kakkar, followed by the band Eka.

The second day had Ekta Kapoor addressing the convention, talking about her mantra for success as a producer and her personal challenges. Later that night, a Sufi musical evening hosted by TV anchor Archana Vijaya saw popular singers like Jassi, Krishna Beura and Harshdeep Kaur entertaining the crowd. “It’s always great to be performing in Delhi,” Krishna said as he made the audience get on the floor with his popular Punjabi songs.
The convention culminated with an industry awards night in Gurgaon. Anchors Mandira Bedi and Boman Irani, like we told you earlier, set a lively pace, taking digs at the event management industry, each other and even the film industry. The performances included Malini Awasthi and Papon with Midival Punditz and Sanket Naik’s percussion group; Manasi Scott, Suchitra Pillai and Suzanne D’Mello’s powerful covers of Poker Face, Rolling In The Deep, Firework and Born This Way; Nargis Fakhri’s acquired latkas and jhatkas, and Boman’s surprise finale – a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s My Way.
