Jai Hind College

has flagged off its annual cultural festival, titled 'Detour 2019'.

The launch took place on August 20, at a posh location in Kamala Mills. Contingents from over 40 colleges gathered with great enthusiasm and energy. With the theme 'Lifelines of Mumbai' the launch started with contingents playing a fun game called 'Andhadhun-Rasta Dhundh' this in turn would give them a contingent name like Raapchik

Rickshawala

, Roshan Spot Dada, Kadak Chaiwala, Shahi Paanwala and many more based on the lifelines which drives Mumbai.
After this, entertaining contingent videos were played. Simultaneously other contingent members who were asked to dress up as various movie characters like "circuit, kaancha, shantipriya etc." were quizzed and danced and enjoyed themselves. This was followed by the screening of the theme video and introduction to the core and subcore for this grand fest. The Head of Department, Dr. S Varalakshmi motivated the contingents with her inspiring words.

The highlight of the launch was the auction in which the contingents bid for various flagship events like dance, drama, kawali, band, fashion show with zeal.

On the days of the fest, if the contingents win the flagship event they had bid for then their points get doubled which takes them a step closer to winning Detour 2019.

Over the years, 'Detour' has had judges like

Kanika Dhillon

, Arbaz Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Luke Kenny, Neel Nitin Mukesh, Sapan Verma and many more.

The event successfully concluded with people grooving to the beats of music and enjoying the delicious food.
