One of the biggest modern and contemporary art fairs, India Art Festival, started yesterday at Nehru Centre, Worli, amidst hundreds of artists and art gallerists. With over 33 art galleries from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Singapore and over 300 artists from forty cities across the world, India Art Festival exemplifies the cosmopolitan and diverse art scene of today.
The major exhibiting galleries at IAF include Art Desh – The Studio, Artequest Art Gallery, Art Intaglio, Gallery Art and Soul, JP Singhal Foundation, Ragkunchala Art’s, Ma Passion, Moksha Art Gallery, Painted Rhythm Gallery, Tao Art Gallery (all Mumbai), Adhunik Art Gallery, Aniha Art Gallery, Art and Aesthetic, Art Konsult, Art Nouveau, Galerie Art Eterne, Gallery Pioneer, Gallery Ruki, Hunar Showcasing Art, Lavanya Art Gallery, Pearl Art Gallery, Studio Endless Thought, Studio Seven and The Lexicon Art Gallery (all New Delhi and NCR) Art Alinda (Kolkata), Forum Art Gallery (Chennai), Galerie Sara Arakkal, Savi3 Studio Gallery, (Bangalore), Gallery Y S Era (Indore), Deccan Art Gallery, Hyderabad, The Gallery of Gnani Arts (Singapore) among others.
Virtual art master painters like Jogen Chowdhury, Ramkumar, MF Husain, FN Souza, Akbar Padamsee, Krishan Khanna, Bengal masters and others’ artworks are on display at the fourth edition of India Art Festival. Artists from USA, Russia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Singapore represented by various art galleries are exhibiting at IAF 2014 along with Indian artists. This year, a part of the India Art Festival will travel to Seoul, Korea to exhibit at ‘Indian Art Pavilion’@ ASIAMANIA, a part of Korea’s cultural festival. The applications for new artists who wish to participate at ASIAMANIA, World Trade Centre, Seoul, Korea are available at the India Art Festival venue in the ASIAMANIA booth.
The IAF Conversations, a series of panel discussions, programmed by Ranjit Hoskote also begins today at 2.30 pm at Nehru Centre Auditorium, adjacent to India Art Festival exhibition hall at the ground floor. The art festival continues till November 30.
