Hridaynath Mangeshkar’s 71st birthday celebration was a musical treat for all those who attended. A special live performance for the man of the day by the husband-wife duo of Roopkumar and Sunali Rathod and ghazals by Ghulam Ali kickstarted the evening, even as sisters Lata and Usha Mangeshkar sat in the audience, taking in the melodies.
The evening was hosted by Avinash Prabhavalkar, who has been celebrating Hridaynath’s birthday with a concert since the past 10 years.
After the musical recitals, Ghulam Ali presented a bouquet and a shawl to the music composer, made personal by a tight hug as well.
The evening continued with the merry musicians taking a trip down memory lane, and remembering the yesteryears. Guess for the Mangeshkars, music is the food of life!
