Anybody who mattered came to bid adieu to Rattan Keswani who moves to Delhi after his four year stint at a SoBo hotel.
The city���s most loved pianist���crooner Georgie sang Frank Sinatra���s My Way, as Pravina and Jamal Mecklai danced cheek to cheek on the carpet, Lady Piloo Tata waltzed on the dance floor and Eric and Patricia Dhoste jived like seasoned professionals. Nirmal Zaveri���s good natured jibe at Kailash Surendranath���s embroidered shirt had wife Meera in splits. What was the joke? Now, now, that���s asking.
Are Dinesh Lal and Viren Mirani the two most sartorial gents in Mumbai? Intriguing how these two enterpreneurs keep such a low profile inspite of their pretty wives.
Raja and Queenie Dhody swanned in and out, Vinod Advani and Monica Vaziralli complimented chef Joy Bhattacharya on the superb Salmon steak, power punters Nanik Rupani, Gul Kripalani, Nana Chudasama chalked out their own circles, French Consul General Francois Pujolas and wife Mayumi came in after an Indian classical dance performance, banker Pavan Sukhdev chatted non stop with corporate honcho KRS Jamwal, Deepak and Honey Nathwani gabbed with Raj Khalid and the effervescent Belgian Consul Suzy Van Crombrugge. Buzz buzz. Most heartwarming sight of the soiree. In the midst of the hustle-bustle, Peenaz Masani escorting her frail, aged mother to the food buffet. That���s called class!
