We now know for sure that aamchi Mumbai’s fashionable and sportive to the T, going by the sheer participation by Bollywood celebs, socialites, fashion biggies and corporate heads, at the announcement of Mumbai Cyclothon and Gitanjali Tour de India Fashion Week 2011 recently.The announcement was made by Kripa Shankar Singh, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Baba Siddiqui, Mohit Khamboj, Dr Akil Khan, Gilles Moutounet of Gitanjali in association with Provogue.
Salil Chaturvedi of Provogue was present at the occasion to encourage the participants.
Bollywood, which is known to be a support of contemporary activities, was also present at help raise funds for charity. BT spotted
Madhur Bhandarkar, Imran Hashmi, Shazahn Padamse and Shraddha Das. Designers including Lina Tipnis, Babita Malkani, Archana Kocchar, Riyaz Gangji, Nisha Sagar and Manali Jagtap were seen talking about the initiative. Madhur seemed kicked and happy. “I am pleased to be associated with the event and urge all the citizens to lend their support towards the same,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Mehul Choksi,CMD, Gitanjali Group, said, “Fashion and fitness are key interests of the youth today, and so we have integrated them into a common platform with this event.
