A newly developed multi-city dining app, DishCo, which allows you to find, rank and share your favourite dishes and personalise each dining experience, was launched recently in Mumbai by co-founders Jimmy and Fida Shaw, Dimple Kapadia and Shaina NC. The launch also celebrated the diamond jubilee of South East Asia’s first and city’s catering college, along with the release of the coffee table book Sixty Years Sixty Chefs, which features some of the institute’s most celebrated former students.DishCo, designed to offer multiple user experiences from a single app, will soon unveil services that include table reservations, coupons, direct resto-chat, deliveries, wallet, online feedback and more. DishCo, which means ‘The Dish Company’, is all about the dish and works on the principle of ‘Food by the people, for the people’.
A unique feature of the app is its in-built campaign to ‘Pledge a Meal, Spread a Smile’. It encourages both restaurants and users to provide meals to the underprivileged children.
Speaking at the event, Jimmy Shaw (Founder, Food Marshal Tech Services) said, “Our goal is to bring the fun back into dining and give each signature dish its place in the sun. We only focus on the good and positive side the food service industry has to offer its guests. At the same time, we would like to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry. In that sense, it will always be an app with a heart.”
