The Dadar beach clean-up organised by
Jay Shringarpure entered the 58th week. Chef Ranveer Brar was the chief guest at the event along with hotelier Vishal Kamat. Both of them could be seen joining hands with the volunteers who attended the clean-up.
As usual large amounts of garbage that had been washed on the sands ashore was picked up by these beach volunteers. They were also seen spreading awareness of keeping the beach clean amongst the crowd that had gathered.
Talking about what motivated him to be part of the event, Chef
Ranveer Brar expressed, “As citizens we should respect our planet and the city that we live in.
All citizens of Mumbai should lend a helping hand to keep the beach clean.” Amongst the muck was lots of plastic in all size, shape and colour. “Plastic is a big trouble maker. The plastic ban in the city is a welcome move and we should all support it. While this ban will ensure that plastic will stop being circulated around, all the plastic that we find strewn around as of now needs to be cleared off.”
Agrees hotelier Vishal Kamat, "Looking at the condition of beach, its high time we replace plastic with an eco-friendly substitute. Most of the litter here is only plastic which we picked up. It was a well spent Sunday morning with ours being a one small step towards a giant leap for #motherearth! "
