The Literature Festival, of which TOI was a key partner, got over on Tuesday evening. But the mood carried over to the Writer’s Ball at the Kesar Kyari, where hills were alive and resonated with happy laughter, music, conversations and the clinking of the glasses. It was a beautiful end to the five-day literary extravaganza. “Amber Fort in the backdrop is looking so fantasy like, I can spend the entire night gazing at it,” said filmmaker Govind Nihlani.
Konkana Sen Sharma kept trying to evade the shutterbugs, but
Rahul Bose happily posed with his fans. The topic of conversation, of course, was Salman Rushdie.
Writers and delegates also danced with abandon, and worked up a swear even when the chilly winds has ensured that most guests were dressed in layers of woollen. So much so, that very few were seen in black with a touch of pink and gold, which was the party dress code.
Spotted at the party were also, Urvashi Butalia, Namita Gokhale, Swami Agnivesh and Vijit Singh of the Jaipur royal family.
