It was an event that saw some of Mumbai’s environment conscious citizens get together and clean up with city beaches.
With the monsoon season on in full swing, the sea has been throwing up all the garbage that had been unkindly dumped in her over the last one year. The beaches have been a witness to large dumps of plastic and other insoluble waste.
Fashion choreographer Achla Sachdev who is conscious of the environment also participated in the event. She put up pictures on her social media platforms about the work she was a part of. She said on the online platform, “Be the change you want to see... Taking a cue from efforts of Afroz Shah, I joined in to clean our seas and do my bit of making our beach better.”
Achla added, “The sight of so much plastic brought tears to my eyes and am sorry to have contributed in the past to some of the plastic that I saw today.”
