Bibliophiles celebrate Halloween with spooky reads
The city’s book lovers met up for a special post Halloween celebration. The event was organised by Broke Bibliophiles at Aromas Café in Bandra. Participants got a chance to share and listen to readings and discussions where people narrated horror stories both real and imagined. This was followed by spooky charades with a Halloween twist. The event ended with a ceremonial book burial in a make-believe graveyard.

Clearly, the aim was to have a ball with scary tales and rituals. Organisers, Rewa Tamboli and Ayushi Mona were thrilled with the response and shared, “We love reading and love the cultural conversations around Halloween. We thought the post Halloween meet was the perfect opportunity to marry our love for spook with books."
Even the participants played along with the theme. Tanishka Nijsure, who also attended the event added, “I really wanted to get into reading again, and meet like-minded people. And when I heard about the post Halloween meet, the idea of a literary Halloween party, I was super intrigued!" Smarojit Chakraborty agreed and shared, “I have been a long-time member of the book club but attending this meetup was something I was looking forward to, as I really wanted to explore new spooky reads." All in all it was a fun scare fest.
