Backstage bonhomie
The Indian Film and Television Directors Association hosted a function on Saturday to felicitate some of Indian cinema’s great directors.
Shakti Samanta, Lekh Tandon and BP Singh received the Lifetime Achievement award. National award winners such as Rahul Dholakia, Pradeep Sarkar, Shujminder Dhanjal for his Punjabi film, Anand Ghatraj for his Bhojpuri film and Nishikant Kamat for his Marathi film were also honoured.
Special guests present at the occasion included Sharmila Tagore, Shatrughan Sinha, Jagdeep, Gulzar, Raman Kumar, Deepti Naval and Aseem Samanta.
It was nice to see the directors, responsible for actually creating the roles we love to see our favourite stars in, getting rewarded for their ccomplishments. Behind the scenes finally came into the limelight!
