In keeping with his ongoing endeavour to raise a red alert on socio-cultural-ecological issues, artist Sanjeev Khandekar opened his latest exhibition titled Everything you wanted to know about bad breath but were afraid to ask Alfred Hitchcock (whew!) at the Bombay Art gallery on Monday. The preview, hosted by Aditya Ruia, saw a bunch of Sanjeevs friends who were curious to see what the maverick artist had come up with now.
Sanjeev explained the connection between his works and Alfred Hitchcock films. Aditya, taking the discussion a step further remarked, I loved the term bad breath which refers to the ills spreading due to over consumption. Chintan Upadhyay chatted a great deal with Sanjeev about his upcoming show in London, while Bose Krishnammachari was seen trading notes with Ananya Banerjee about the shows he is curating.
(Wonder if the two also bonded on fashion, considering their penchant for accessories!) Anjana Mehra, as always, made a quiet tour of the works, as did Satish Mathur who summed up the evening best saying, Theres nothing more rejuvenating after a long day at work than good art! And rejuvenation also seemed to be on the mind of Viren Shah who dropped in for a bit en route to another party.
