Ashvin Gidwani Productions Race Day's inaugural do

The inaugural Ashvin Gidwani Productions Race Day took centre stage at the RWITC Mahalaxmi Race Course on Sunday, and boy, it sure was a ‘galloping’ event! There were eight races in all, out of which seven were named after some of AGP’s biggest and most successful theatre productions; the final race trophy was named after the legendary late Dr Jagjit Singh. Ashvin Gidwani and his daughter, Zaara, presented the trophy to the winners of the AGP Multi Million Race, while the victor of the Dr Jagjit Singh Owner’s Tribute Million Race was awarded by none other than his wife, Chitra Singh and Adnan Sami. Vivek Jain, Chairman, RWITC and Minissha Lamba presented the trophy to the winner of the ‘Blame it on Yashraj’ Race. And in between all this, was an assortment of entertaining shows compered by Suchitra Pillai. Shibani and Apeksha Dandekar, Shibani Kashyap, Clinton and Dominique Cerejo, Anushka Manchanda, Sanjay Maroo and Neha Bhasin set the stage on fire with their musical performances, while Azeem Khan showcased his ensembles on the ramp. Paritosh Painter, Sorabh Pant and Radhika Shah were also present. Kalpana Shah of the Tao Art Gallery showcased some paintings, while there was an exhibition of Mandala paintings by Manjou Lamba. Salim and Jeanne Merchant, Ramesh Modi and Anu, Ameet Gaur, Aly and Nasreen Morani, Rashmi Uday Singh, Parvez Damania, Deepak Shroff and others attended the races.
