An evening of melody and rhythm

Participants got a masterclass in the language of music and more
The heavy downpour during the week did not dampen the spirits of music lovers, who made a beeline for this unique workshop. Music enthusiasts in the city got a chance to attend a unique workshop about one of the three pillars of Indian music called

Bandish

. The workshop was conducted by Dr Suvarnalata Rao a programming head of Indian music at a renowned performing arts venue in the city.

Learning the language of music
The idea was to understand the role and significance of Bandish in Indian Music and to provide a deeper look at the elements of Bandish like language,

melody

and

rhythm

. Sharing her experience of conducting this musical workshop, Dr Suvarnalata Rao shared, “I feel really rejuvenated because of the students; the environment was marvelous."

An enriching musical evening
The event was a informative and participants were able to take back some important music lessons. Shailesh Nabar adds, “The whole experience was really interesting and quite engrossing. There were a few things that I didn’t know earlier, but now I do; thanks to the workshop.” Aadit Jhaveri, a music student concluded, "The experience was good and indeed enriching. The concept was explained well and discussed for the benefit of everyone present.”
