The final leg of the Godrej Eon Tour de India presented by Hero Cycles was held at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida recently.

The final leg of the Godrej Eon Tour de India presented by Hero Cycles was held at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida recently. The event saw teams from Ireland, Germany, India, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Thailand.
Delhiites spent their Sunday morning cheering for these cyclists. Many Bollywood celebs like Zarine Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonal Chauhan, Mugdha Godse and Shazahn Padamsee also turned up at the event and encouraged the participating cyclists.

Olympic medallist boxer Mary Kom made an appearance here and happily posed on a cycle for our camera.
The three-legged races were endorsed by the cycling legend David McQuaid. Dr Akil Khan, MD, ID sports, said, “Our aim was to connect with the people and promote cycling as a sport in India.” Also present here was Pankaj Munjal, MD and chairman, Hero Cycles, who said, “We want to motivate budding cyclists and provide them the right platform so that they take more interest in this sport.” Kamal Nandi, vice president, (sales and marketing), Godrej Appliances, added, “We wanted to connect with the youth and this event was basically an attempt to help them choose cycling not just as a hobby but also as a proper career.”
The function concluded with an awards ceremony where Panassenko Nikita won the first prize followed by Plarre Matthais and Almansoori Ahmeed at the first and second runner-up positions, respectively.
