The warm glow of a hundred candles and the perfume of jasmines was the first thing that greeted guests at Maheka and Amrit Mirpuri’s elegant party where fashion met style in a harmonious marriage. There to celebrate this union was the who’s who of Mumbai’s swish set who turned out in their glittering best.
Speaking of sparkle, Monica Vaziralli was the cynosure of all attention with her black shimmering top and silk pedal-pushers. Joining her in the old is gold bracket were Asha Patel and Esther Daswani, who a lot of guests said looked younger by the day. Husband Raju and son Nikhil too were present making up the by-now-famous ‘Daswani Trio’. Besides the candles, warming the do with her glowing presence was Sushmita Sen who was dressed in one of Maheka’s creations.
Looking like the newest colour co-ordinated couple on the block were Laksh and Kaajal Pahuja all dressed in black, who caught up with Kishin Mulchandani. Palak and Samir Seth, Ahmed Javed and Anil Chopra minus wife Sabina were some of the other guests who were there to wish the hosts lots of luck in keeping with the theme of the party Khwaahish which spoke of hopes and aspirations.
