Valuable lessons from Mahabharata for Lucknowites through this play

The Thrust auditorium of Bharatendu Natya Akademi was packed to its capacity for the play Maharathi. The play took everyone on a theatrical journey to Hastinapur which was based on the Indian mythological epic Mahabharata. This play specifically focused on the life of Karna.

Writer Vibhanshu Vaibhav did a remarkable job with the storyline as well as the dialogues. The director of the play, Ritesh Asthana said, “The character of Karna was chosen as the epicenter of the play as his character is relatable to the current society and especially youngsters often find themselves in such dilemma as Karna did in the story. Youngsters can learn a lot from him and implement those learnings in their lives.” The actors received thunderous applause for their spectacular acting. The character of Karna was portrayed by Sadeep Dev while Abhay Singh played Lord Krishna and Seema Modi the role of Kunti.
