There was nothing ‘aam’ about this exhibition

An art gallery in the city recently celebrated the joy that mangoes bring to us with an exhibition by a group of artists of national fame, who had worked on the theme ‘

Mango

’.
Binoy Paul from Assam stood out with his art work at the exhibition. Binoy’s papier-mâché technique had detailing in terms of colour, ornamentation, clothes, features and theme. Anil Bodwal from New Delhi, showcased artwork which was designed using mixed media and oil canvas which looked realistic and showed his command over the medium. Manisha Kumari from Jamshedpur too was appreciated for her work.

Mango was also the main ingredient in several dishes and desserts made especially for the show (BCCL/ Vishnu Jaiswal)
Allahabadi Jalaj Yadav’s photographs caught everyone’s attention. The perfect timings of the clicks, the different angles of the shots, the detailing and the kind of light in the pictures was loved by everyone.

Bhupendra K Asthana from Azamgarh, used mixed media in his art works. He even had a few of his installations on the theme on display at the exhibition.
The highlight of the exhibition was also the different varieties of mangoes displayed there, some of which included Karela, Elaichi Dana, Dedh Sera, Kecho Meetha and Gulab Khas. The exhibition included a chef’s mouthwatering mango recipes from main course to desserts.
