Rahuul Chuwdhary
, a jat from Ghaziabad was serving as a soldier in the
Indian Army before he took up acting. "I was in the Indian Army and I have served in the Rajputana Rifles for four and a half years. But then I quit my job to pursue a career in modelling. Even though I was serving in the Indian Army, I was not happy from within. Somehow I used to always think that this is not what I wanted to do. I took proper training in modelling and then did several ad commercials and ramp shows in Mumbai. Meanwhile, I was also learning acting by doing several theatre workshops," shares Rahuul, who was recently in Lucknow to shoot for his film 'Dosti Zindabad'. He adds, "My whole family was in a state of shock when they came to know about my decision to quite the Indian Army. Who would want their son to leave a financially secure job like that and get into acting? It took me around one and a half years to convince them."
Rahuul, who will also been seen in movies like 'Main Khudiram Bose Hun' and 'Pankh - A Tale of a Daughter', had a gala time exploring Lucknow. "I have been to Lucknow before also for a photo shoot for a brand but then that was just for a day. Now when I came here to shoot for this movie, I had the time to explore it aaram se," says he adding, "When I got an off from my shoot, I straightaway went to see the old city to see the real Lucknow. I went to Aminabad, Chowk, Charbagh with a few local friends I had made here. Since my off from the shoot was a Tuesday, I couldn't eat the various non-vegetarian delicacies that the city has to offer. So instead, I ate golgappes here from a street vendor, which is callled paani-poori in Mumbai. From there we went to Aminabad and there I ate Prakash kulfi for the first time. The kulfi was awesome there. After that I also had a lassi of some famous shop which was near-by. Jat ko toh lassi kabhi bhi chalti hai! But was surprised to know that Lucknow mein itni achhi lassi bhi milti hai. Finally I went to a restaurant and got some non-veg dishes packed for myself, which I ate post midnight."
However, it wasn't just Lucknow's food that Rahuul fell in love with. "The architecture of Lucknow is mind blowing. There are so many spots for a good photshoot here. Lucknow not only looks beautiful in the day light it looks picturesque at night too. Being a model, I couldn't resist myself and got a photo shoot done in the
Old Lucknow
, near the Imambaras. The Bada Imabara looks divine with those lights," says Rahuul.
