Janmashtami seemed an apt day for Dr Vandana Sehgal to inaugurate her painting exhibition, `The Woman... and Krishnaa'. Organised at the Lalit Kala Akademi in Aliganj, the exhibition was attended by the veritable who's who of the city. Inaugurated by CM
Akhilesh Yadav and Pandit Chhannulal Mishra, the event also saw a performance by the classical singer. Pandit Mishra presented a classical rendition of Krishna.
While Vandana looked after the guests and made sure that she explained the theme of her paintings to them, bureaucrat Navneet Sehgal was busy playing the perfect husband and host, and looked after the arrangements.
Among the high profile guests at the event were UP cabinet minister Abhishek Mishra and chief secretary Alok Ranjan, apart from filmmaker Muzaffar Ali. Ali was accompanied by his wife, Meera. Politician Lalji Tandon also made an appearance at the exhibition. The guests took time to peruse through the art work on display , and appreciate the nuances of Vandana's paintings.
The painting that caught everyone's attentionwas titled Raas-Leela. “The painting was sold at a group exhibition in Delhi. It has specially been brought back for this exhibition. It took me one month to complete it,“ said Vandana.
