Lucknowites enjoy this enchanting conversation

Folk singer Malini Awasthi and poet and writer Yatinder Mishra sat down for an enchanting conversation at a bookstore recently. Speaking about the significance of folk songs, Malini remarked, “Folk songs hold immense significance in our culture; they bring people together. These are tales that have lived through decades—many have been lost because they were never written down, only passed on orally. We must preserve them and introduce not only folk songs but our entire sanskriti to the upcoming generations.”

Discussing the writing styles of Hindi authors, Yatinder said, “I believe Hindi writers have made the language difficult for readers by using complex vocabulary in their writing. If we want to make Hindi accessible to the masses and the new generation, it must be presented in a way that everyone can consume.”

Shivam Pandey, a writer, travelled from his hometown to be a part of this session and dedicated a poem, especially written for Malini.
