LGBTQIA community endorses a special message at the pride parade in Lucknow

The 7th Awadh Queer Pride Walk organized by the Awadh Queer Pride Committee saw people from the LGBTQIA community coming from different parts of the country. The theme of the parade this year was ‘Love Is Love’ and it emphasized the importance of acceptance and respect for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

A few parents too came at the Pride March. Vinoti Roy came to support her son Himadri and his friend Pankaj

The walk began from Rana Pratap Marg, with participants carrying colorful flags and placards, dancing to music, ending at 1090 Women Powerline Chauraha, covering a stretch of around two kms. People from various educational institutes, NGOs, and other committees were spotted chanting slogans like “Hey ya, hey ya…Homophobia has to go!” and screaming ‘Azadi Azadi’ at the parade. The crowd was seen playfully singing the famous Bollywood song Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. The parade also had an adorable dog named Jerry with Moonis joining the march which became the center of attraction for everyone. The event also saw family members present to support their children. Vinoti Roy came with her son Himadri, to join the march for the first time in Lucknow to support LGBTQIA community.”
