Inaamulhaq’s special b’day celebrations in Varanasi
Actor Inaamulhaq, of 'Airlift' and 'Lucknow Central' fame, celebrated his birthday in a unique way in Varanasi, where he is shooting for a film these days. The actor spent the day with specially-abled children from the city and also was part of a special screening of his film
"It was perhaps one of the best birthdays that I have ever had," shares Inaamul, a tad emotional. "The children may not have the gift of sight but their insight is amazing," he adds. "I was called to motivate them but the joy and motivation that I got from these kids in return is much more than I could ever get from anyone else. My film 'Airlift' was screened for them and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves," says Inaamul, who belongs to
"Later, the kids got all around me as I cut the birthday cake and even sang the birthday song for me. They asked me so many questions and it was amazing to interact with them. One of the kids asked me what I do when I find myself in a difficult situation so I told them a story with a lesson of 'this too shall pass' which they loved. They shared their life stories with me, and I told them that I also come from a humble background like them and I sometimes didn't even have proper shoes to wear to school. It was amazing to see the enthusiasm in these children. Their zest for life is infectious and I realised ki hum sab chhoti-chhoti cheezon ko le ke pareshan ho jate hain, aur yahan yeh bachche hain, jo dekh nahi sakte magar shayad zindagi hum sab se behtar samajhte hain. As I said, this was indeed my best birthday ever."
