. "I always try to come home for Diwali," said the singer, when we caught up with him as he went out shopping for flowers for the puja at home. "I had concerts in Bangalore and Mauritius just before Diwali. So, first I went to Bangalore then to Delhi and finally headed to Mauritius. Bas wahan jaldi-jaldi kaam khatm kar ke I came to Kanpur. Now, I am relaxing at home but mummy ne bola puja mein help karne ke liye, so I am out shopping for the last minute preparations," said the Piya More composer, adding, “Har baar Diwali shopping Kanpur aa kar hoti hai par iss baar family ke liye jo bhi Diwali shopping karni thi woh sab Bangalore aur Mauritius se kar li thi, ab bas last minute wali bachi hai.”
While he prepared for the celebrations at home, we asked Ankit when will he be preparing for his

shaadi

and he laughed and said, "Shaadi ke liye meri mother ladki search kar rahi hain aur kahin tak pahuch bhi gayi hain woh. Frankly speaking I don’t want to date someone any more. Main bhi ab shaadi karna chahta hoon. Ab main shaadi ke baad date karunga. Mujhe ab aisa lagta hai ki shaadi achhi cheeze hai aur ab mujhe kar leni chahiye. Jaise hi meri family ko ek achhi ladki mil jaati hai main shaadi kar loonga."
Ankit recently got embroiled in another controversy when a US company accused him of cheating and alleged that it had paid him and four other celebrities `30 lakh to perform in a show, which they backed out from. When asked about it Ankit said, "Celebrities have become easy targets these days. I have never met or spoken to the person who has filed this case against me and my brother. In fact, I came to know about the case when I was travelling to Mauritius. Aaj tak na toh unka koi call mere pass aaya, na hi koi mail ya message. Almost two years back I did a musical tour in the US. There were eight shows in different cities and I did all of them. Farhat Hussain was my international tour promoter for this tour. He had a

contract

of eight shows with me. Out of these eight shows we did seven shows, as one show which was in Chicago, got cancelled as the local promoter in Chicago failed to promote the show. We also posted about the cancellation of the show on social networking sites and everything was going smooth. Now, after two years suddenly a guy comes and files a case against me and my brother. My question is that when Farhat Hussain who was my international tour promoter was satisfied with me at the end of the tour, then why is this person filing a case against me and my brother? Contract mein jo bhi conditions thi woh toh humne pehle hi puri kar di hain. Genuinely naa hi Akriti naa hi Shilpa aur naa hi maine unko dekha hai naa hi unse mile hain. Now, my legal advisers are looking into the matter. As soon as I reach Mumbai I will get to know what actually has happened," said Ankit, who is also composing music for films Kaashi and Aiyaary.
