For the love of animals

To support animal welfare in the city, a panel discussion titled Let’s Talk For The Voices Unheard was organised at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. People from all walks of life came forward to participate in the discussion. The event started with a painting competition where more than 60 underprivileged kids participated. The highlight of the event was a musical performance by the choir group from students of La Martinere Girls’ College.
Chief guest Maneka Gandhi, Union Cabinet minister for women and child development, Government of India, said, “Saving a few lions, tigers and dogs is not only about saving animals. Even the cockroaches and rats in our houses have an important role in our eco -system.” Other eminent speakers in the session included actor Gaurav Chopra, Yogi Ashwini, Gaurav Mehrotra, Keshav Varma, Dr Ram Lakhan Singh, Jai Madaan and Veda Krishnamurthy. “We all live in a balanced eco-system where our lives are inter-connected with animals and insects in our environment,” said Gaurav Chopra.
