A soulful musical treat for the Lucknowites

Several music lovers made their way to the classical music festival titled Annapurneshvari which was an ode to the musical legacy of Acharya Baba Allauddin Khan, an Indian sarod player and multi-instrumentalist, and his daughter, the legendary musician and surbahar player, Annapurna Devi.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a film screening where two documentary films were screened, one on the life of Baba Allauddin Khan and the second, a 1971 documentary, Raga by New York-based filmmaker Howard Worth. The event further opened for a panel discussion that included Pandit Nityanand Haldipur, Pt Basant Kabra and Vidushi Sandhya Apte with senior vocalist Pandit Amit Mukherjee.
