Celebrations galore at Bengali Club

Pohela Boishakh, also known as Bengali New Year, was celebrated with much fervour at the

Bengali Club

recently. People were seen enjoying the event as it was celebrated after two years of sabbatical due to the Coronavirus.

The event also had a special musical performance by Anushka Patra, the Finalist of reality show Saregamapa Lil Champs, 2019, along with her band from Kolkata. The audience was captivated by Hindi as well as Bengali songs sung by the singer. Anushka sang

Rabindra Sangeet

's Aamaro Porano Jaha Chay, Aisa Mauka Phir Kahan Milega, and Ja Re Ud Ja Re Panchhi in tribute to Lata Mangeshkar. Anushka also sang some peppy Bollywood tracks like Saame from Pushpa, An Evening in Paris, Zara Sa Jhoom Lu Main, Mere Rashke Qamar, etc which engaged the audiences.

During the musical performances, everyone danced on the floor. Holding on to their tradition, Bengali Club treated its guests to Darbesh, a classical sumptuous Bengali sweet that is a lookalike of boondi laddu.
