After an Indian sojourn for Hollywood actors Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, The Blue Lagoon actress, Brooke Shields is currently holidaying in India. The actress, along with her family – TV-writer husband Chris Henchy and daughters Rowan and Grier Henchy – visited Varanasi on Thursday. "During her two-day stay, Shields explored the city like any other tourist," says Prakash Dwivedi, a guide, who took her around Varanasi.
"She was quite delighted to see the ghats during the boat ride and was all ears when she was told about the history behind all the ghats.

The architectural splendour of the havelis on the ghat really impressed her. Quite inquisitive about the morning rituals, she was really keen to know about the Manikarnika Ghat or the burning ghat, where she spent some time," says Dwivedi.
The Endless Love actor, who was also accompanied by a few friends on her India visit, also attended the Ganga Aarti and explored the old city area. "Roaming freely, as the locals were unable to recognise her, she enjoyed the heritage walk in the lanes," says Dwivedi, adding, "Stopping at various points, especially the small temples in the lanes, she even relished the typical Banarasi tea in a kullhar (earthern cups). Later, she also visited Dhamek Stupa in Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon."
Brooke, who left Varanasi early on Saturday morning, is also expected to visit Delhi, Agra and Jaipur during her stay in India, informs a source.
